Most important information for the quick reader (abridged version)

Dear user,

If you are reading this page, you are one of the many people who are concerned about the protection of their personal data. We would like to support you in this by explaining below what happens to your personal data when you register for our services or enter our website. Personal data is all data that can be associated with you.

Since data protection law has become a very complex subject, we would like to start by giving you a brief overview of the most important questions. In detail:

Responsible

Whenever personal data is processed, there is someone who is responsible for the data processing (data controller). This data controller is your first point of contact for data protection issues and must ensure that the processing of your data complies with the level of protection provided by German and European legislation. In the context of the data processing of the Gnoxx services, we are this data controller. You can reach us at:

Exclusion of minors

Our site is intended exclusively for adults. Minors - i.e. persons under the age of 18 - may not register with us. If we discover that a minor has registered, we will delete their account without notice.

Data collected at a glance

When you visit our website, register with us or otherwise enter your data on our pages (e.g. in the contact form), we will collect a number of personal data. This is mainly the following data:

- IP address (when you enter the website)

- Information about your user behaviour (e.g. clicks, page views, etc. - this is partly collected by cookies that are stored on your computer when you enter our website).

- Name, country, postcode, birthday, gender, search for men / women (if you register on our website)

- Photos (if you upload any)

- Facebook data marked as public (if you log in with Facebook)

- Payment details (if you order paid services)

- Communication / chats with other portal users (of course we do not look at these as a matter of principle)

Public personal data on platform

In order for you to find the right partner for you, you need as much characteristic information about him or her as possible - of course, the same applies vice versa. Therefore, logged-in users can see the following personal information about you:

- Photos

- Profile text

- Age

- relationship status

- Interests

- first digit of your postcode

- Preferences (e.g. search for men / women - can be adjusted at any time)

Analysis of your data

When you visit our website, we can analyse your user behaviour. For example, we can determine which advertisements you click on and how long you stay on a page or in a page area. These analysis results are primarily used to improve our web offers and to show you advertising content that is as suitable as possible.

If you do not want your behaviour to be analysed, we naturally understand. In the chapter "Third-party modules and analysis tools" we explain how you can prevent the analysis.

Your rights

When we process your personal data, data protection law grants you a number of rights. You have the right to,

  • to request information about your personal data processed by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR;
  • to request the correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR;
  • request the deletion of your personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR;
  • to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR;
  • in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, to receive the personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request that it be transferred to another controller;
  • in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR, you may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. An informal e-mail to us is sufficient for this purpose. This has the consequence that we may no longer continue the data processing based on this consent in the future. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation;
  • complain to a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR.

If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, insofar as there are grounds for doing so that arise from your particular situation or the objection is directed against direct advertising. In the latter case, you have a general right of objection, which we implement without specifying a particular situation.

If you wish to exercise your right of revocation or objection, simply send an email to service@gnoxx.de

How do we protect your data?

We are aware that your account may contain very intimate information. For this reason, we encrypt our website. The encryption prevents unauthorised persons from accessing your data.

  1. B. Data protection in detail (long version)

  1. I. Your rights

As we have already explained above, German and European data protection law grants you a number of rights when we process your personal data. In detail:

Revocation of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your consent. We will explicitly ask for your consent before we start processing your data. You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal e-mail. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to the collection of data in specific cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

If the data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) e or f DSGVO, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims (objection under Article 21(1) of the GDPR).

If your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing (e.g. newsletter), you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing; this also applies to profiling, insofar as it is connected with such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct advertising (objection pursuant to Art. 21 (2) DSGVO).

Other rights

In addition to the aforementioned rights of objection, you also have the following rights:

  • Right to information about your stored data according to Art. 15 DSGVO

  • Right of rectification according to Art. 16 DSGVO

  • Right to deletion according to Art. 17 DSGVO

  • Right to restriction of processing according to Art. 18 DSGVO

  • Right to data portability according to Art. 20 DSGVO

  • Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority pursuant to Art. 77 DSGVO

  1. II Registration and use

You can only access many functions on our website if you are a registered user. The following registration options are available to you:

Simple registration on our website

You can register directly via our website by entering your details in the registration form and sending it to us. For important changes, for example in the scope of the offer or in the case of technically necessary changes, we will use the e-mail address you provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The processing of the data entered during registration is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke your consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal e-mail. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Registration with Facebook Connect

You can also register with us using Facebook Connect. The provider is Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA.

When registering with Facebook, you will be redirected to the Facebook website where you can log in with your usage data. Through this registration, your Facebook profile is linked to our service. This saves you having to enter all your data with us. All you need is a Facebook account, with the help of which your account with us will be personalised.

We would like to point out that this link gives us access to your information stored on Facebook (e.g. Facebook name, profile and cover picture, Facebook ID, email address, country, language, gender, friend lists, likes, date of birth, etc.).

The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.

You can find more information in the Facebook terms of use and the Facebook privacy policy. You can find these under:

https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/

https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms

Contents of your chats

Our site is designed to help you meet new people. For this purpose, we provide you with our chat functions. Everything you write in the chat remains between you and your conversation partner. Although we are able to access this content, we will only do so if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. if ordered to do so by a judge).

Storage period

If your account is deleted by you or us without you having concluded a payable contract with us, your data will be deleted from our systems eight (8) weeks after your last login. This storage period is necessary because in the past many users have repeatedly deleted and re-created their account in order to make multiple use of free services that are available upon re-registration. The retention period is intended to counteract this. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

We are entitled to delete your account if you have not concluded a payable contract with us and have not logged in for at least 180 days. This measure is necessary to relieve our systems and to keep our community free of inactive users (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO). Before the deletion, we will inform you via email about the upcoming deletion so that you can prevent the deletion by logging in.

If you conclude a contract with us that requires payment, the data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on our website and then deleted from our systems after the statutory deletion periods have expired.

When your account with us is deleted, the contents of your chats are blocked for your respective chat partners so that they can no longer see the communication contents with you. The chats themselves initially remain in our backend and are irretrievably deleted from our servers eight (8) weeks after the deletion of your account. The retention period is necessary in order to be able to trace the accusations in the event of complaints (e.g. insults). This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

  1. III. Processing of data from chargeable contracts

If you conclude a contract with us that is subject to payment, the data you enter for this purpose will be processed for the establishment, content or amendment of the legal relationship. This is done on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data about the use of our website (usage data) only insofar as this is necessary to enable you as a user to use our service or to bill you.

This data is only transmitted to third parties if this is necessary for the processing of the contract, for example to the credit institution commissioned with the processing of payments.

The collected customer data will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship, but not before expiry of the statutory retention periods.

  1. IV. Automatic data collection on our website

A number of automatic processing operations take place on our websites, which we would like to describe to you below:

Cookies

So-called cookies are used on our websites. These are small text files that are stored in your browser.

On the one hand, cookies are intended to guarantee the functions of our website. Cookies can be used to determine whether you are currently logged in to your account or not (without cookies, you would have to log in again on each subpage). The use of these cookies is therefore in the interest of the effective provision of our services (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO).

Other cookies are used to analyse your behaviour on our websites and are described elsewhere.

If you do not want cookies to be stored on your end device, you can disable them in your browser settings. Please note, however, that certain functions on our website may then no longer work.

Server log files

Our provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us when you access our website. These are:

  • Browser type and version

  • Operating system used

  • Referrer URL

  • Host name of the accessing computer

  • Time of the server request

  • IP address

We do not combine this data with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use.

The collection of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free and optimal presentation of our website (server log files must be collected for this purpose).

  1. V. Contact form and newsletter

Contact form

If you would like to contact us, you can use our contact form. Please note that all data entered will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your request.

The data entered in the contact form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal e-mail. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions - in particular legal retention periods - remain unaffected.

Newsletter data

You can subscribe to our newsletter. To do this, we need an e-mail address from you as well as information with which we can check that you are the owner of the specified e-mail address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected. The data will only be used for sending the newsletter.

The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time in the future, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.

The data you provide us with for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted after you unsubscribe. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this.

  1. VI. Third-party modules and analysis tools

Google Analytics

Our website uses the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of the use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

You can find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google's privacy policy:

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de

Browser plugin

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which will prevent the collection of your data during future visits to this website: Deactivate Google Analytics

Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics

Our website uses the "demographic characteristics" function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section "Objection to data collection".

Order data processing

We have concluded an order data processing contract with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

IP anonymisation

We use the function "Activation of IP anonymisation" on our website. This means that your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Legal basis

Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

Facebook Pixel

Our website uses so-called Facebook Pixel. The provider is Facebook Inc. 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook").

With Facebook Pixel, your behaviour can be tracked after you have been redirected to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of the Facebook ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimised.

The data collected is anonymous for us as the operator of this website, we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook, so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook data usage policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). This enables Facebook to display advertisements on Facebook pages as well as outside of Facebook. This use of the data cannot be influenced by us as the site operator.

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited.

If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of your online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

You can find further information on the handling of user data in YouTube's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

Google Adsense

This website uses Google AdSense, a service for integrating advertisements from Google Inc ("Google"). The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google AdSense uses so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of the use of the website. Google AdSense also uses so-called web beacons (invisible graphics). These web beacons can be used to analyse information such as visitor traffic on these pages.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons about the use of this website (including your IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. This information may be passed on by Google to Google's contractual partners. However, Google will not merge your IP address with other data stored by you.

The storage of Adsense cookies is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using our website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google").

Within the framework of Google AdWords, we use the so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the internet browser stores on your computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that you have clicked on the advertisement and have been redirected to this page.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in to conversion tracking. The customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can object to this use by deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of "conversion cookies" is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

You can find more information about Google AdSense and Google Conversion Tracking in Google's privacy policy:

http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
